Teton heaven

I've found a new way to template my photos- on photoscape.org! I like it. You can click on the collage to make it bigger- well actually it looks like I'm having trouble with that. For some reason, some you can and some you can't. Will be working on that glich.

These are all pics from a week and a 1/2 ago when Shane, Kody, Kelly, Tia, Brianne & Kyle and Uncle Jade hiked the south Teton. They hit the trail head at 6:30am (except for Kelly, Tia and Kody who slept on the trail the night before, hence the huge packs!) and finished 12 hours later. And yes that is a BEAR you see, right by the trail.

Legend of Sam

I don't know what to say. Who KNOWS where he gets his eccentricity from..... couldn't possible be either of his parents, right? So Sam has been playing a character nearly every day for... a while now. His latest obsession is "Link" from the video game "Legend of Zelda". If you've never heard of it, Link dresses in green, wears brown boots and wields a powerful sword. With the help of Kmart and the dollar store, Sam has become a hero. We actually got 2 outfits cuz he wears it EVERY DAY- so that's why you see 2 Links in one of the pictures (cousin Easton). The picture above cracks me up- he snuck in bed one morning with Kody and Brianna while they were staying with us and just sat there quietly while they slept.

Looking back, this character obsession started a couple years ago with "a witches hat" (really an orange cone) that Sam had to wear every time we went to Tia's house. So it became a hat thing for a while. Bonnets, cowboy hats, whatever was available and made him feel handsome or powerful.
Then he was a pirate for a couple weeks after his 3d birthday party. Then he spent about 6 months as Superman and about flipped when he realized he could transform into Clark Kent with his sweet spectacles from his Dr.'s kit. In June, he realized Link was much cooler than Superman. And thus is the Legend of Sam..... so far.

Quick trip to Salt Lake in July

We learned the hard way that when Sam's dentist said "make sure that kid flosses!" that he actually meant we were supposed to floss. He had 3 cavities filled in between his molars in July. They totally knocked him out for it. This is Sam in la-la land, dreaming of Zelda and Superman merging their powers and giving them all to him. He did great, and now we floss every night!

A couple days after the dentist adventure, we spent the day at Lagoon, Utah's greatest and only amusement park and had great fun with Grandma and Grandpa and Season's family!

Easton, Katie and Sam riding some helicoptor/transformer/spaceship thing.

Summer Fun with lots of Hendersons!

Most of Shane's family spent alot of time with us in July. Here's Grandpa Kell playing with Katie, Kody blowing up the sweet raft, and Shane in the boat with Kody on Jenny Lake.

4th of July! We watched fireworks from our backyard. We had spent the day with Tia's family, Season's family and Kody & Brianna.
We took a boatride earlier that day on Jenny Lake- you can see Bailee tickling Sam on the boat. The dark-ish pictures is Shane and Sam at Hidden Falls, and then part of the group at Teton Visitor Center.
We also did the Alpine slide down the mountain- here's Sam riding the ski-lift with his Dad, overlooking the slide. Then Easton and Sam at the top of the ride, ready to get their slide and go down. You can see the town of Jackson just beyond them.
